The 3rd annual Greenify webinar, titled Greenify: Your Path to a Greener, More Efficient Home is on Wednesday, 22nd November at 7pm. With a fantastic line up of speakers, including Minister Jennifer Carroll MacNeill and Pat Kane, each contributing a unique perspective the webinar will focus on practical steps to sustainable living.
Greenify is the brand name for a green home energy upgrade loan product that is available across a growing number of Irish Credit Unions including St. Colman’s Credit Union. The loan provides the opportunity to our credit union members to access green finance to retrofit their homes.
Jennifer Carroll MacNeill TD, Minister of State at the Department of Finance with responsibility for Credit Unions, will attend the webinar as a special guest to speak about the government’s support for home energy upgrade programmes and the role credit unions can play in promoting sustainability.
Speaking ahead of the event, Minister Carroll MacNeill said,
“Who wouldn’t want to invest in futureproofing their home in partnership with their local Credit Union when a Greenify energy upgrade loan is available to them. For decades our Credit Unions have been embedded at the heart of every community throughout Ireland when it comes to providing accessible financial services for their members. More and more people are taking the steps to make their homes warmer and more energy efficient with the availability of Home Energy Grants from Government along with some of their own funds – or with a Greenify loan through their local Credit Union. This webinar is an unmissable opportunity for anyone who wants to learn more about taking the practical steps to retrofit their home and futureproof it for life.”
The event will be hosted by RTÉ presenter Helen Carroll and include a wide-ranging discussion on sustainability. Pat Kane, Chief Sustainability Officer at Pragmatica and Founder of Reuzi, will give what is sure to be a thought-provoking keynote on sustainable living. Focusing on the potential of individual actions in shaping a more eco-friendly future for our planet, Pat will highlight the importance of adopting sustainable practices in daily life, from reducing single-use plastics to embracing energy-efficient technologies.
We want our members to be able to start their green journeys at home; investing in a range of projects that will enhance the comfort of their homes and support them in protecting our environment. It can be for a small project like attic insulation, or a large, deep retrofit.
We are delighted to play our part in this webinar to provide further awareness of green initiatives and solutions available to homeowners. It is also a welcome opportunity to bring together our credit union teams, local tradespeople, suppliers and members of the wider community that have a role to play in Greenify.
