2024 Report in respect of the Community Support Fund.
The Credit Union Act 1997 (as amended) provides that credit unions may propose to their members at a general meeting, the establishment of a fund out of their reserves to be used for social, cultural or charitable purposes (including community development).
The 2023 AGM approved this initiative with a sum of €136,000 agreed to be made available.
St. Colman’s issued over €30,000 in sponsorship requests to local clubs and fundraisers throughout the year and this fund of €136,000 is in addition to this.
We received over 20 applications which fell into the Community Support Fund category. Not all submissions were successful and we would encourage those unsuccessful members to revisit their application.
We were delighted to announce that 11 local groups were successful with a sum of €118,842 having been granted or secured for these groups.

SCCU continually seek to positively impact lives, right across our Common Bond. There are many organisations and volunteers doing incredible work and this Community Fund will help realise a number of projects that would otherwise appear as unachievable.
We are delighted to be able to assist so many diverse organisations.
