This year marked the introduction of ‘The St. Colman’s Credit Union Education Bursary’.
The credit union took the initiative to support families in the Community with their education in a time where the costs of going to college are constantly increasing.
Gerry Kelly, Manager of St. Colman’s Credit Union said:
“The significant cost of third level education puts phenomenal pressure on both parents and students starting or returning to third level education this year. The student registration fee combined with monthly rent and bills, books and materials, food and every day expenses are a financial burden to many families.”
The winner of the first bursary is Triona Morley. Triona, who is currently studying her second year of Arts in U.C.D is the youngest of five children. Triona was awarded with a cheque for €3,500 which was greatly appreciated by her family. We are delighted to have given such a significant helping hand to Triona’s education and look forward to doing the same for others for years to come.
St. Colman’s credit union would like to take this opportunity to remind members of our incredible student loan rate. The Credit Union wants to ease the financial burden which 3rd level education places on students and their families which is why they are offering an incredible student loan rate of 4.9% (APR 5.03%).
